Les Monclardises: The Popular Festival of Monclar d'Agenais

Created in 2019, the Les Monclardises festival is a festive and popular event that enlivens the town center of Monclar, a charming bastide in Lot-et-Garonne founded in 1256, perched at 187 meters altitude and dominated by the imposing Saint-Clair church with its listed 16th-century porch. Organized by the Comité des Fêtes de Monclar in partnership with Le Music Hall Le Splendid', this entirely free festival transforms the village's streets and squares into a vast space of conviviality and merriment.

A Varied and Festive Musical Program

Les Monclardises offers an eclectic musical program mixing French variety, festive music, and live performances. Previous editions have hosted artists such as Mike Fontaine, Les LOVELY's 80, ROSEGANG, Los Tropicales, Bernard CLAIN, and an Elvis Presley show. The brass band and musette ball add a traditional and warm touch to the festival's atmosphere, inviting spectators to dance and actively participate in the festivities.

Entertainment for the Whole Family

The festival places great importance on family entertainment and activities for all ages:

  • Children's entertainment: games, shows, and fun activities for the younger audience
  • Funfair: rides and attractions set up in the village center
  • Pétanque competition: a tournament open to all in a friendly atmosphere
  • Majorettes parade: a festive and colorful show in the village streets
  • Country meals: moments of sharing around food with local products

The Lot-et-Garonne Terroir in the Spotlight

Les Monclardises highlights the gastronomic riches of Lot-et-Garonne through a Market of Local Producers that sets up along the festival route. Visitors can discover and taste local specialties: goat cheeses, farm products, artisanal pastries, and other delicacies. The Cabicoulx farm also opens its doors on this occasion, offering tours, goat milking demonstrations, and sales of goat cheese, crepes, and ice cream.

A Festival Rooted in Local Life

Driven by the dynamic Comité des Fêtes de Monclar, Les Monclardises embodies the spirit of conviviality and solidarity that characterizes village festivals in the southwest of France. The event brings together residents, associations, and visitors in a spirit of sharing, contributing to the cultural and social vitality of this historic bastide in the Pays de Serres, between the Lot valley and the Agenais hills.
