Festive and gourmet weekend at the Chandres Brewery, birthplace of Eurelian beer
The story of L'Eurélienne is that of a passionate young farmer. In 2005, Vincent Crosnier, then 23 years old, decided to diversify the family farm located in Sours, near Chartres. He created a microbrewery that uses the barley grown on the farm's land, right in the heart of Beauce. Twenty years later, the Brasserie de Chandres produces over 5,000 hectoliters per year and offers a range of more than a dozen craft beers, along with seasonal and limited-edition brews.
Every spring, the Chandres Brewery opens its doors wide for a festive and gourmet weekend. This event, in its 11th edition in 2026, attracts several thousand visitors eager to discover the secrets of beer making. Guided and commented tours of the brewery explain each step of the brewing process, from malting the Beauce barley to bottling, including fermentation and aging.
Beerology workshops introduce visitors to the art of beer tasting: visual, olfactory, and gustatory analysis, food and beer pairings, and discovery of different brewing styles. A large market of local producers complements the offering with cheeses, cured meats, artisanal breads, honey, jams, and other specialties from the Beauce region and Centre-Val de Loire. Visitors can taste the beers in the range—blonde, amber, red, triple, white, and seasonal beers—paired with the exhibitors' products.
L'Eurélienne's Open House is a resolutely family-friendly event. Children's activities, live music, games, and creative workshops punctuate the weekend in a warm farm atmosphere. Admission is free and brewery tours are self-guided, making this event accessible to all. It's the perfect opportunity to discover a model of diversified agriculture and short supply chains, where beer is brewed with barley harvested just meters from the vats.
L'Eurélienne has established itself as an ambassador of the Eure-et-Loir terroir. Available in delicatessens, restaurants, and food shows—including Les Artisanales de Chartres, the Salon Saveurs des Plaisirs Gourmands in Paris, and numerous producers' markets—this craft beer embodies the agricultural richness of Beauce and the dynamism of its entrepreneurs. The brewery's Open House is the ideal time to meet the team and understand the philosophy of this company rooted in its land.
The 11th edition of the Chandres Brewery Open House is scheduled for Saturday, April 11th, and Sunday, April 12th, 2026. A weekend packed with activities, delights, and conviviality awaits visitors.
On the program: free guided tours of the brewery, beerology workshops, a large producers' market, and activities for the whole family. The perfect opportunity to discover or rediscover L'Eurélienne and its craft beers brewed in the heart of Beauce.
