Reggae, dub and hip-hop at the gates of Limoges
Created in 2018 by Sacha Biro through the association Time Wire Production, in collaboration with artist Biga*Ranx (aka Telly*) and the label Mïse Records, the Liquid Festival is a musical event rooted in the village of Saint-Jouvent, a few kilometers north of Limoges. The festival's name refers to Biga*Ranx's iconic track "Liquid Dub," reflecting the event's deep sonic identity.
The Liquid Festival stands out with its bold programming that generously blends genres. Vaporous reggae, powerful dub, lo-fi hip-hop, and festive electronic music coexist on two complementary stages: one dedicated to live performances, the other to sound systems and DJ sets. During its first edition, the festival hosted renowned artists such as High Tone, O.B.F, DJ Pone, Caballero & JeanJass, L'Entourloop, Chill Bump, Blundetto, Biffty & DJ Weedim, as well as many talents from the Brigante Records label like Supa Mana, OnDubGround, Don Camilo, and Art-X.
Located in the Monts du Limousin, the Liquid Festival offers a warm and relaxed atmosphere, far from large impersonal gatherings. The site features a friendly space offering local craft beers and quality food, as well as a free campsite allowing festival-goers to fully enjoy the weekend. This proximity between artists and the public, in a preserved natural environment, is one of the event's major assets.
Sacha Biro, a music manager and producer based in Haute-Vienne for over ten years, founded the Liquid Festival with the desire to offer the Limousin region a quality musical event focused on urban cultures and contemporary music. The festival is part of a strong local cultural dynamic, with the ambition to make Saint-Jouvent and Haute-Vienne shine on the map of French alternative festivals. The first edition gathered around 5,000 festival-goers over two days, confirming the public's appetite for this type of event in a rural setting.
Liquid Festival is preparing its return to Saint-Jouvent for another weekend of powerful bass and urban music in the Monts du Limousin. The lineup will be announced in the coming months.
