Loches en Voix: the voice in the spotlight in the royal city

Since 2011, the Loches en Voix festival has taken over the heart of the royal city of Loches every summer, a jewel of Touraine heritage, to celebrate the voice in all its forms. This free festival offers an eclectic program where jazz, swing, French song, world music, rock, Brazilian music, hip hop, gospel, and many other genres meet and mingle through concerts and musical strolls.

An eclectic program centered on the voice

The uniqueness of Loches en Voix lies in its common thread: the human voice, the universal instrument par excellence. Each edition offers a selection of artists who explore all facets of vocal expression, from jazz to French song, from retro swing to gospel, from world music to rock. Previous editions have hosted artists such as Mayra Andrade (jazz, bossa, pop), Elisa Jo (retro pop, rock, and soul), Nicolas Jules (rock song), Maniwata (gospel), Pitch Control (a cappella pop, rock, and jazz), and the fanfare La Saugrenue.

The royal city as a setting

Concerts take place in the public garden, squares, and streets of Loches city center, offering an exceptional setting dominated by the medieval keep and the collégiale Saint-Ours. This royal city, where Jeanne d'Arc and Agnès Sorel stayed, brings a unique historical dimension to the musical experience. The open-air stages allow you to enjoy music in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, in the heart of a listed heritage site.

A popular and accessible festival

Free admission is a fundamental pillar of Loches en Voix, allowing all audiences to discover quality artists without financial constraints. The festival aims to be a moment of sharing and discovery, a summer event that brings together residents and visitors around music. The open-air concerts, the strolls through the medieval streets, and the festive atmosphere contribute to making this event a highlight of the Loches summer.

From Local Sessions to major concerts

The festival has expanded its program with Local Sessions, evenings dedicated to local groups and artists mixing rock and electronic music, held at the Espace Agnès Sorel. These sessions complement the open-air concerts and demonstrate the vitality of the local music scene, offering a showcase for emerging talents from the region.
