Sacred music in a world pilgrimage site
Since 1968, the Lourdes International Sacred Music Festival has echoed the most beautiful pages of sacred music in the iconic locations of the Marian city. Founded by flutist and conductor Kurt Redel and Georges Loustalot, the festival has become a major cultural and spiritual event.
The concerts take place in places steeped in spirituality: the Basilica of the Rosary, the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, the Espace Robert Hossein, the Abbey Church of Saint-Savin, and other remarkable heritage sites. This unique setting gives the festival an incomparable character, where sacred music takes on its full spiritual dimension.
The festival hosts internationally renowned artists. The 52nd edition notably featured tenor Andrea Bocelli, soprano Clara Barbier Serrano, violinist Anastasiya Petryshak, and the Orchestre de Pau Pays de Béarn, attracting around 12,000 spectators from 170 countries.
True to its mission of dissemination, the festival offers free concerts performed by young artists from the region, to introduce sacred music to the widest possible audience.
The Lourdes Sacred Music Festival returns in spring 2026 around Easter. The program will be announced soon on the festival's website.
Paid concerts: approximately €12 per adult, €28 for 3 concerts. Free for under 18s. Five free concerts by young regional artists.
