About Lug'en Scène
Lug'en Scène — edition 2026
The Lug'en Scène Festival returns for its 12th edition on Friday, August 21st and Saturday, August 22nd, 2026, at the site of Loudun's former summer swimming pool (boulevard du 8 mai). Two days of street art shows under the sign of the fantastic and the marvelous, to enjoy, laugh, sing, and dance. The detailed program has not yet been unveiled as of our verification date.
2026 Edition — 12th Edition
For its 12th edition, the Lug'en Scène Festival once again takes over the site of Loudun's former summer swimming pool, right in the city center, on August 21st and 22nd, 2026.
A street art festival, Lug'en Scène has cultivated a fantastic and marvelous universe for several editions, inspired by the myth of the Celtic god Lug: magic, witchcraft, enchanted worlds, and creatures from the otherworld. The usual program includes: juggling, burlesque shows, puppets, circus, magic, and fire shows.
The full program (artists, companies, and schedules) will be published by the Culture department of the City of Loudun as the event approaches. A catering area is planned on site, and the site is accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Lug'en Scène: The Enchantment of Street Arts in Loudun
Created in 2015 by the City of Loudun, the Lug'en Scène Festival takes its name from the Gaulish god Lougous, "the Luminous," the tutelary deity of the city who gave his name to Loudun. Drawing on the enigmatic legends of the Loudunais region, this free street arts festival aims to immerse spectators in a magical universe blending witchcraft, enchanted worlds, and spells.
An Atypical Venue in the Heart of the City
The festival is held at the former summer swimming pool, on Boulevard du 8 Mai 1945. This unique location, converted into an open-air cultural space, offers an ideal shaded and intimate setting for street arts. On Saturday mornings, a procession from the collegiate church to the festival site extends the experience through the streets of Loudun's historic center.
An Eclectic and Family-Friendly Program
Each edition brings together about twenty companies, mostly from Nouvelle-Aquitaine, offering a complete panorama of street arts: contemporary circus and aerial acrobatics, close-up and stage magic, fire shows and fiery dance, giant puppets and soap bubbles, poetic clowning, quirky brass bands, and wild instrument making. The 2025 edition, focused on the circular economy and reuse, highlighted artisanal music with instruments made from recycled materials.
Unforgettable Highlights
Among the festival's must-see events are the fire shows at the end of the evening, the "entresorts" offering intimate experiences for a single spectator, creative workshops for children, the artisan village, and the traditional reimagined popular ball that concludes each day in a festive and friendly atmosphere. With around 3,000 spectators per edition, Lug'en Scène has become a must-attend summer event in the Loudunais region and the Vienne department.
