Medieval festival with equestrian shows, tournaments, and artisan market in Rouffignac in the Black Périgord
Every spring, the village of Rouffignac-Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac dons its medieval attire to host the Medievales of Rouffignac. This popular event transforms the streets of the Black Périgord village into a true medieval town for a weekend, with entertainment for the whole family.
The highlight of the festival is the equestrian shows and knight tournaments that punctuate the two days. Knights in armor clash in spectacular jousts before a captivated audience. Continuous medieval entertainment—combats, weapon demonstrations, fire-eaters—completes the program.
An artisan market offers items made using ancestral techniques: leather, wood, wrought iron, medieval jewelry. Children can enjoy a mini-farm, pony rides, and adapted medieval games. The medieval tavern offers food and drinks throughout the day, and medieval meals are available by reservation on Saturday evening and Sunday lunchtime.
The Medievales of Rouffignac will return in spring 2026 for a new medieval weekend in Rouffignac-Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac. Visitors will find the usual equestrian shows, tournaments, artisan market, medieval tavern, games, and family entertainment. Dates and program to be confirmed.
The events take place in the village center of Rouffignac-Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac, 24580 Rouffignac-Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac.
