35th Edition: An Anniversary of Reggae, Rap, and Dub
The Mégascène Festival celebrates its 35th anniversary on Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the emblematic La Mouchetière site in Saint-Colomban (44310), 25 minutes south of Nantes. For this anniversary edition, the volunteer association has put together two evenings at the crossroads of French reggae, rap, pop, and electronic music, with 17 artists spread across the main stage and a brand new dub corner.
A New Dub Corner in Partnership with Dub Camp
New for 2026: a space dedicated to dub culture and sound systems is being launched, set up in partnership with the Dub Camp Festival. Alpha Steppa x Nai Jah, Mahom, Panzer Stepper, Soma Collectif, Anima'Sound System, Lo Free Meditation, and Kaya Kaspar will take turns performing there throughout the weekend.
A Competition Won by Fiestapapa
As every year since 2015, the festival promotes emerging talents through its musical competition. For 2026, the Nantes septet Fiestapapa won the final and will perform on the main stage on Saturday: a mix of ska, funk, and rock in French.
Opening and Access
Site opens on Friday, June 12 at 6:30 PM and on Saturday, June 13 at 5:45 PM. Ticketing is open on the official website via Weezevent (pre-sales until June 1st), and the festival remains fully accessible to people with disabilities.

Over 30 years of eclectic music in Loire-Atlantique
Founded in 1992, the Mégascène Festival is one of the oldest and most popular music events in the south of Nantes. Organized annually at the La Mouchetière site in Saint-Colomban, in close proximity to Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu and the Grand-Lieu lake, this open-air festival brings together around 15,000 festival-goers over two days of concerts.
A program without musical borders
Since its inception, the Mégascène association has made the bold choice to develop all forms of music: reggae, rock, rap, ska, electro, French chanson, world music, punk, dub, and many others. This deliberately eclectic and joyful programming allows diverse audiences to gather around artists of different renown. Over the years, the festival has hosted prestigious names such as Tryo, Dub Inc, IAM, Vald, Hoshi, Mass Hysteria, UB40, Bigflo et Oli, Niska, Olivia Ruiz, Soolking, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Goran Bregovic, Acid Arab, Selah Sue, Danakil, Stupeflip, and Boulevard des Airs.
A festival run by volunteers
Mégascène's unique feature is its 100% volunteer-run organization. The association, composed entirely of enthusiasts, manages the entire event with the support of public and local partners. This approach helps maintain accessible prices and preserve the friendly, family-oriented spirit of the festival. Entry is free for children under 12 accompanied by an adult with a ticket.
A springboard for local talent
Since 2015, the festival has organized a springboard evening aimed at promoting the local music scene. This competition allows young bands from the region to perform on stage and gain valuable visibility. Winners, like Freaky Family in 2022, then have the opportunity to play at the main festival.
A rural and friendly setting
The La Mouchetière site offers an ideal natural and rural setting, 25 minutes from Nantes. The festival provides free camping for ticket holders, on-site catering, and a cashless payment system (Megacash). Fully accessible to people with disabilities, Mégascène offers a raised platform, adapted restrooms, and dedicated volunteers for assistance.
