The eclectic festival in the heart of Parc Saint-Pierre and the Hortillonnages of Amiens
The festival Minuit avant la Nuit was born in 2018 on the initiative of La Lune des Pirates, an iconic contemporary music venue in Amiens. In May 2017, the venue celebrated its thirtieth anniversary with an open-air concert at Parc Saint-Pierre, attracting over 4,500 spectators. The resounding success of this event gave the team the idea to create a real festival. A year later, Minuit avant la Nuit was launched, supported by Amiens Métropole and the Hauts-de-France Region.
The festival unfolds in a remarkable landscape, in the heart of Parc Saint-Pierre and in immediate proximity to the famous Hortillonnages d'Amiens, these floating gardens crisscrossed by canals that make the capital of Picardy famous. The stages are set up among the lawns, water bodies, and lush vegetation, offering a unique sensory experience where music blends with birdsong and the murmur of water. This bucolic setting, a short walk from Notre-Dame Cathedral, gives the festival an intimate and peaceful atmosphere, far from the hustle and bustle of large urban events.
True to the spirit of La Lune des Pirates, the Minuit avant la Nuit program mixes national headliners and discoveries, with a spirit of assumed musical curiosity. French chanson, electro, pop, independent rock, hip-hop, and world music are featured on several stages. The 2025 edition notably hosted Hoshi, Philippe Katerine, and Kavinsky, while the 2026 edition announces Bon Entendeur, Gaël Faye, Sébastien Tellier, Solann, and Last Train among the first names revealed.
Since its creation, Minuit avant la Nuit has championed the total freeness of access to all its concerts and activities. This commitment to accessibility makes the festival a popular and family-friendly event, open to all audiences. The organization also emphasizes eco-responsible practices: selective sorting, reusable cups, local catering, and short supply chains contribute to making Minuit avant la Nuit an event mindful of its environmental impact. In just a few editions, the festival has established itself as one of the unmissable events of the Amiens summer.
