From Journées Lyriques to Moments Lyriques

Founded in 1988 under the name Journées Lyriques de Chartres et d'Eure-et-Loir, the festival was renamed Moments Lyriques on the occasion of its 30th edition in 2018, marking a renewal in its form while maintaining its artistic standards. Ève Ruggieri, appointed artistic director from the festival's inception, has successfully evolved the event over the decades, anchoring it ever more deeply in the cultural fabric of the department.

A prestigious program

Moments Lyriques offers a program that highlights the great masterpieces of the lyrical repertoire: operas by Mozart, Verdi, Bizet, Puccini, but also Handel, Vivaldi, and lesser-known composers. The performances feature renowned soloists, choirs, and orchestras, such as the Orchestre Prométhée, in productions that combine musical quality and careful staging.

Beyond the evening concerts, the festival offers P'tits Moments Lyriques, introductory sessions to lyrical art for the youngest, demonstrating a commitment to passing on the passion for opera to new generations.
