About Mondial ULM

The ULM World Championship is the largest international exhibition dedicated to ultralight motorized aviation in Europe. Organized by the French Ultralight Federation (FFPLUM) at the Blois-Le Breuil aerodrome, this event brings together over 120 exhibitors, 600 aircraft, and enthusiasts from 13 nationalities. The six classes of ULM are represented: weight-shift, multi-axis, autogyros, paramotors, ultralight helicopters, and aerostats. Flight demonstrations, exhibitions, conferences, and entertainment make this event a unique moment for the entire aeronautical community.

Please note: since 2025, the ULM World Championship is now held every two years. There is no edition in 2026; the next edition is expected in 2027 at Blois-Le Breuil.

Mondial ULM — edition 2026

ℹ️ No Mondial de l'ULM in 2026. The Fédération Française d'ULM (FFPLUM) announced on November 28, 2025, that the event is moving to a biennial schedule: there will be no show in 2026, with a return in 2027 at the Blois-Le Breuil airfield. In even-numbered years, the federation will instead host Festi'ULM, a pilot gathering whose first edition will take place from June 19 to 21, 2026, at the same location.

ℹ️ Mondial de l'ULM: No 2026 Edition

The Fédération Française d'ULM (FFPLUM), the organizer of the Mondial de l'ULM, announced on November 28, 2025, that there will be no Mondial de l'ULM in 2026. The event is shifting to a biennial schedule, taking place every other year, and will return in 2027 at the Blois-Le Breuil airfield. Please note that the September 2026 dates still appearing in some calendars are no longer valid.

The federation attributes this change to the event's shift toward a more commercial focus. Vice-President Laura Mac Donald explained that members "no longer fully identified with the event, which had become a trade show." The Mondial will retain its international trade show format, but will now occur every two years.

Festi'ULM in even-numbered years

At the same Blois-Le Breuil airfield, the FFPLUM is organizing the first edition of Festi'ULM from June 19 to 21, 2026, which will also be a biennial event alternating with the Mondial. "It is not a trade show, it is not an airshow; it is a festive gathering for pilots," the federation stated. The program includes: an exhibition of all six ULM classes, safety, mechanics, and navigation workshops, conferences, an aeronautical flea market, a second-hand market, an amateur builders' village, a women pilots' meet-up, discovery flights, and camping among the aircraft. Public access is free on Saturday, June 20.

The official website, mondialulm.fr, currently remains set to the 44th edition held on September 5, 6, and 7, 2025; dates for the 2027 Mondial have not yet been published.

Mondial de l'ULM: The European Capital of Light Aviation in Blois

For over forty years, the Mondial de l'ULM has turned Blois into the European hub for microlight aviation. Organized by the Fédération Française d'ULM (FFPLUM) at the Blois-Le Breuil airfield, the event serves as a professional trade show, a gathering for enthusiasts, and a festival open to the general public.

ℹ️ Biennial schedule: On November 28, 2025, the FFPLUM announced that the Mondial will now take place every two years. There will be no event in 2026; the next edition is scheduled for 2027. The 44th edition, held on September 5, 6, and 7, 2025, remains the most recent.

An International Event

Each edition brings together over 120 exhibitors, including manufacturers, equipment suppliers, flight schools, and federations from across Europe and beyond. More than 600 aircraft land at the airfield over the weekend. In 2025, 13 nationalities were represented, including federations from Italy, Portugal, Spain, the Czech Republic, and Sweden, alongside delegations from Tunisia and the UK.

The Six Classes of Microlights

The Mondial covers all six regulatory classes: weight-shift control, three-axis, autogyros, paramotors, microlight helicopters, and balloons. Visitors can admire everything from classic machines to the latest cutting-edge projects.

Flight Demonstrations and Entertainment

Flight demonstrations take place throughout the day. The 2025 edition introduced a Heritage and Innovation Village, showcasing historic aircraft alongside next-generation projects, as well as an Adventurers' Village dedicated to long-distance travel and aerial expeditions. These are complemented by the Paramotor Film Festival, a flashmob, and Para-STOL demonstrations, a discipline focused on short take-offs and landings.

Conferences and Networking

The event features thematic conferences, round-table discussions, and technical workshops where pilots, manufacturers, and instructors connect. A complimentary reception is hosted for all visitors, and paramotor introductory flights are available to the public.
