The ULM World Championship: The European Capital of Light Aviation in Blois

For over forty years, the ULM World Championship has made Blois the European capital of ultralight motorized aviation. Organized by the French Ultralight Federation (FFPLUM) at the Blois-Le Breuil aerodrome, this event is simultaneously a professional exhibition, a gathering of enthusiasts, and a popular festival open to all.

ℹ️ Biennial rhythm: since 2025, the ULM World Championship now takes place every other year. Therefore, there is no edition in 2026 — the next one is announced for 2027.

An event of international scope

Each edition attracts over 120 exhibitors — manufacturers, equipment suppliers, flight schools, federations — from across Europe and beyond. Over 600 aircraft land on the field during the weekend, creating a permanent aerial spectacle. Enthusiasts from 13 different nationalities converge on Blois, making the World Championship a truly international event.

The six ULM classes represented

The World Championship covers the entire ULM universe through its six regulatory classes: weight-shift, multi-axis, autogyros, paramotors, ultralight helicopters, and aerostats. This diversity offers visitors a complete overview of light aviation, from the most classic machines to the latest innovations.

Flight demonstrations and entertainment

The program includes numerous flight demonstrations throughout the day, allowing visitors to admire the performance of different types of ULMs. The Heritage and Innovation Village offers a dialogue between historical aircraft and new-generation concepts. The recently inaugurated Paramotor Film Festival enriches the cultural program, while Para-STOL demonstrations, a new sporting discipline, illustrate the sector's creativity.

Conferences and meetings

Thematic conferences, round tables, and technical workshops are offered during the event. Pilots, manufacturers, and instructors exchange ideas in a friendly atmosphere that is the hallmark of this event. Introductory flights allow novices to discover the sensations of ultralight flight.
