Festival of contemporary music in the heart of the Jardin des Plantes
Since its creation in 2015, Montauban en Scènes has established itself as the leading festival in Tarn-et-Garonne for contemporary music. Organized annually in June at the Jardin des Plantes in Montauban, this festive and popular event brings together over 30,000 spectators from all over the Southwest each edition to share four days of concerts under the Occitanie sun.
The festival stands out for its deliberately eclectic program, capable of bringing together pop, soul, hip-hop, electro, and world music artists on the same site. This assumed musical diversity reflects the organizers' desire to offer an open window on all expressions of contemporary cultures, accessible to all audiences.
The Jardin des Plantes in Montauban, a historic green space in the city center, offers an exceptional natural setting to host the festival. Two stages — the main stage and the electro stage — operate continuously from 6 PM to 2 AM, offering festival-goers an uninterrupted sequence of concerts and DJ sets every evening.
The site is complemented by a festive village accessible from 5:30 PM, with catering areas (food trucks, guinguette, semi-gastronomic rooftop), bars, and relaxation zones. Particular attention is paid to accessibility for people with reduced mobility, with a reserved PMR area, a raised platform, and dedicated access via Rue de l'Abbaye.
From its very first editions, Montauban en Scènes asserted its vocation as an electronic music festival, with a stage dedicated to DJ sets and electro performances that extend the party long after the main concerts. Names like Étienne de Crécy, Alan Braxe, Kavinsky, and Breakbot have marked the festival's history, contributing to its national reputation.
Over the editions, Montauban en Scènes has hosted major artists from the French and international music scene. Among the highlights that have marked the festival's history are performances by Soprano, De La Soul, Jean-Louis Aubert, M (Matthieu Chedid), Fatoumata Diawara, as well as international artists who have thrilled the Montauban audience.
Montauban en Scènes mobilizes over 80 volunteers each year who contribute to the organization and smooth running of the event. This strong involvement of Montauban's civil society is one of the festival's trademarks, deeply rooting the event in the local community fabric.
Committed to its values of accessibility and sharing, Montauban en Scènes offers a reasonable pricing policy with advantageous multi-day passes and reduced rates for students, people with disabilities, and families. After more than ten years of existence, Montauban en Scènes represents much more than a music festival: it has become a unifying event for an entire region, a moment of popular communion that marks the beginning of the festive season in the Great Southwest every summer.
The 11th edition of Montauban en Scènes takes place from June 25 to 28, 2026 at the Jardin des Plantes in Montauban. With over 24 artists in 4 days spread across two stages (main stage and electro stage), the 2026 edition features a renowned lineup including Nile Rodgers & Chic, Gregory Porter, Vanessa Paradis, Louane, Kendji Girac, Christophe Maé, Kavinsky and many others. Over 10,000 tickets sold as early as February, a historic record for the festival.
