Montauban en Scènes: Montauban's Musical Summer

Since its creation in 2015, Montauban en Scènes has established itself as the benchmark festival for contemporary music in Tarn-et-Garonne. Organized every year in June at the Jardin des Plantes in Montauban, this festive and popular event brings together over 30,000 spectators each edition from all over the Southwest to share four days of concerts under the Occitan sun.

The festival is distinguished by a deliberately eclectic program, capable of hosting artists from pop, soul, hip-hop, electro, and world music on the same site. This assumed musical diversity reflects the organizers' desire to offer an open window to all expressions of contemporary cultures, accessible to all audiences.

An Open-Air Scenography at the Jardin des Plantes

The Jardin des Plantes in Montauban, a historic green space in the city center classified as a heritage green space, offers an exceptional natural setting for the festival. Large stages are set up in the heart of the tree-lined alleys, creating a unique atmosphere that blends popular celebration with the botanical beauty of a French garden.

The site is arranged to welcome the public in optimal safety and comfort conditions, with catering areas, bars, shaded rest areas, and special attention paid to accessibility for people with reduced mobility.

An Iconic Electro Stage

From its very first editions, Montauban en Scènes has affirmed its commitment to electronic music, with a stage dedicated to DJ sets and electro performances that extend the party well after the main concerts. Names like Étienne de Crécy, Alan Braxe, and Kavinsky have marked the festival's history, contributing to its national reputation.

Renowned Headliners

Over the years, Montauban en Scènes has hosted major artists from the French and international music scene. Highlights that have marked the festival's history include performances by Soprano, De La Soul, Jean-Louis Aubert, M (Matthieu Chedid), Fatoumata Diawara — a brilliant representation of Malian world music — as well as international artists who have thrilled the Montauban audience.

The 2026 edition confirms this ambition with a program of over 24 artists in 4 days, including Nile Rodgers & Chic, Gregory Porter, Louane, Kendji Girac, Vanessa Paradis, and Kavinsky, perfectly illustrating the diversity that characterizes the festival.

Volunteering and Associative Commitment

Montauban en Scènes mobilizes over 80 volunteers each year who contribute to the organization and smooth running of the event. This strong involvement of Montauban civil society is one of the festival's hallmarks, deeply anchoring the event in the local associative fabric.

An Accessible and Friendly Festival

Committed to its values of accessibility and sharing, Montauban en Scènes offers a reasonable pricing policy with advantageous multi-day passes. PMR (People with Reduced Mobility) areas are set up to ensure everyone can fully enjoy the festival in good conditions.

After ten years of existence, Montauban en Scènes represents much more than a music festival: it has become a unifying event for an entire region, a moment of popular communion that marks the start of the festive season in the Grand Sud-Ouest every summer.
