About Motocultor
Motocultor Festival is a metal and rock music festival held every summer in Carhaix-Plouguer, Finistère. Created in 2007 by Maël Nagot and Yann Le Baraillec, this festival has established itself as one of the major events on the French metal scene. For four days, across four stages, over 110 bands perform for the delight of fans of metal, rock, punk, hardcore, and extreme music. Located since 2023 at the Kerampuilh site, Motocultor attracts over 60,000 festival-goers.

Motocultor Festival: The Temple of Metal in Brittany
Since 2007, the Motocultor Festival has established itself as one of the most important metal festivals in France and the largest in the West. Founded by Maël Nagot and Yann Le Baraillec, this festival dedicated to heavy music has experienced spectacular growth, evolving from a small local event to an unmissable fixture on the European metal scene.
Four Days, Four Stages, Over 110 Bands
Motocultor offers an ambitious lineup spread over four days and four stages, featuring over 110 bands covering the entire spectrum of heavy music: heavy metal, thrash, death metal, black metal, doom, stoner, punk, hardcore, progressive rock, and many other subgenres. The festival hosts both legends of the genre and emerging bands, providing an exceptional showcase for the diversity of the metal scene.
A Successful Move to Carhaix
In 2023, Motocultor took a major step by moving to the prestigious Kerampuilh site in Carhaix-Plouguer, the same site that hosts the Vieilles Charrues festival. This relocation allowed the festival to benefit from high-quality infrastructure and welcome an ever-growing audience. The 2025 edition set a attendance record with 62,500 visitors, a 15% increase compared to 2024.

Festival Access
By Car
Carhaix-Plouguer is accessible via the RN164 from Rennes (approx. 2h) and Brest (approx. 1h15). Free parking is available around the Kerampuilh site. Follow the "Motocultor Festival" signage at the entrance to the town. Carpooling is encouraged via the festival's partner platforms.
By Train
Carhaix station is served by TER Bretagne (Guingamp-Carhaix line). The festival site is a 15-minute walk from the station. Shuttle services may be organized.
By Bus
Special bus routes may be set up from Brest, Quimper, and Rennes. The BreizhGo network serves Carhaix from major Breton cities.
2026 Ticket Prices
4-day Pass: from €217 — 4-day VIP Pass: €270 (access to dedicated VIP areas, bar, and catering) — 1-day VIP Pass: €130. Official ticketing is available at motocultor.seetickets.com. Prices may increase as the festival approaches, so early booking is advised.
Camping
Camping is available in the immediate vicinity of the Kerampuilh site. Opens the day before the first day of the festival. Toilets, showers, and water points are provided. Camping is reserved for festival-goers with a valid ticket. Bring your complete camping equipment.
Food and Drinks
Numerous food stalls are present on site, offering a varied selection: grills, burgers, crepes, world cuisine, and vegetarian options. Drink stands offer local and international craft beers, as well as non-alcoholic beverages. Cashless payment system on site.
Merchandising
An official merchandising area is present on site, offering festival and band merchandise. Numerous record store and metal merchandise stalls complement the offerings.
Practical Tips
- Bring ear protection (earplugs) for the concerts — metal is powerful!
- Sunscreen and hat recommended for outdoor days
- Raincoat or poncho essential in case of Breton rain
- Remember to bring a flashlight for the walk back to the campsite
