Every June 21, Alès celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): choirs, local bands, conservatory students, and amateur artists animate the city center's squares and streets for free. Supported by Alès Agglomération, the festival also extends to the communes of the territory and mixes all genres, from chanson to gospel, from country to world music. Free admission.

Usually, the festival unfolds in the evening on several neighborhood stages in the center of Alès — parc du Bosquet, espace André-Chamson, place Jan Castagno, place de l'Abbaye, place de la Mairie — featuring choirs, ensembles from the Conservatoire Maurice-André, and amateur groups, in various genres (chanson, gospel, country, world music). Many communes of Alès Agglomération also participate.

The Fête de la Musique in Alès
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Alès into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces in the evening, in all styles and for all audiences, in the squares and small squares of the old town center.
