Every June 21, Cagnes-sur-Mer celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): from the medieval village of Haut-de-Cagnes to the city center and the fishing district of Cros-de-Cagnes, squares and streets host open-air concerts. Organized by the City of Cagnes-sur-Mer, the day is entirely free and brings together all styles, from pop to rock, from the conservatory to young local talents.
The Fête de la Musique in Cagnes-sur-Mer
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Cagnes-sur-Mer into an open-air stage every June 21. On the occasion of the summer solstice, music freely takes over public spaces: numerous stages are set up in the streets, squares, and along the coastline, from early evening until late into the night.
A festival in all neighborhoods
Usually, the festival unfolds in the three main sectors of the commune: the historic village of Haut-de-Cagnes and its perched squares, the city center around Place de Gaulle, and the maritime district of Cros-de-Cagnes. Ensembles from the municipal conservatory, city music schools, and young local groups perform there in various styles, from pop to rock, including world music and jazz.
