About Music Festival in Dreux
Every June 21st, Dreux celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): amateur musicians, choirs, associations, and professional artists perform for free on a dozen stages set up in the pedestrian city center. Organized by the City of Dreux in conjunction with local businesses and associations, the day is entirely free and blends all styles, from contemporary music to traditional and world music.
The Fête de la Musique in Dreux
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms Dreux city center into an open-air stage every June 21st. Music freely takes over public spaces, from mid-afternoon until the heart of the night, in all genres and for all audiences.
A festival throughout the city center
Usually, the City of Dreux provides a dozen stage areas spread throughout the pedestrian city center, taken over by shopkeepers, associations, and artists. Around forty groups, choirs, and amateur as well as professional artists — contemporary music, classical music, traditional music, and world music — perform there throughout the evening. The city's bars and restaurants also participate in the celebration, with concerts on terraces or inside their establishments.
