Saint-André en Livres: the literary fair of the south of the Eure
Saint-André en Livres is the book fair of Saint-André-de-l'Eure, a town located in the south of the Eure department. Created in 2022 by the municipality in partnership with the bookstore-press "Au Rendez-Vous Quotidien" and the association Les Marches Normandes, this literary fair has quickly become a popular event for book lovers in the Eure region.
About twenty authors from all backgrounds
Each edition brings together approximately 25 authors from all over Normandy and beyond, representing a wide diversity of literary genres: novels, crime fiction, children's literature, poetry, local history, comics, and essays. This variety allows every visitor to find their literary pleasure and discover new writers. The authors are present throughout the day for signing sessions and exchanges with the public.
A guest of honor for each edition
Saint-André en Livres is distinguished by the presence of a guest of honor who gives each edition a special flair. The 2nd edition in 2023 hosted the actor and author Bruno Putzulu, while the 4th edition in 2025 invited the author Nathalie Salmon. The guest of honor usually gives a free conference before the fair, on Friday evening at the media library, allowing the public to deepen their encounter.
The literary coordination of Stéphane Maillot
The fair's programming benefits from the literary coordination of Stéphane Maillot, an experienced author and organizer who ensures the selection of invited authors and the animation of the event. His expertise guarantees a balance between established authors and young talents, between regional literature and national outreach.
L'Espace de la Mère Michel: a friendly venue
The fair is held at L'Espace de la Mère Michel (formerly Salle de la Mère Michel), located at 4 place Gambetta in Saint-André-de-l'Eure. This community space, in the heart of the village, offers a warm and accessible setting for literary encounters. Its proximity to the media library and the town center makes it easy for visitors to access.
An event rooted in the territory
Saint-André en Livres contributes to the cultural animation of the south of the Eure, a region often less endowed with literary events than the department's major cities. The fair, free and open to all, attracts families and curious visitors, from avid readers to casual strollers. The association Les Marches Normandes, a historic partner of the event, brings its network and expertise in organizing literary events in Normandy.
