Around fifty free concerts throughout the city on June 21, 2026
Every June 21, Épernay celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): amateur and professional musicians, choirs, and music schools freely take over the squares, streets, and gardens of the champagne capital. Organized by the City of Épernay, the day is entirely free and blends all styles, from pop to rock, from accordion to world music and electro.
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms Épernay into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces, from the afternoon until the heart of the night, in all genres and for all audiences. A festive, popular, and spontaneous event, the festival honors amateur musicians and singers as well as established ensembles, who set up in the city's squares, sidewalks, and terraces.
The City of Épernay provides spaces for musicians, divided into dedicated zones according to their musical style. The festivities begin in the afternoon before the city center comes alive until the evening, from Place Jean de Voguë, Pierre-Mendès-France, Fada N'Gourma, and Hugues Plomb to Rue du Général Leclerc, passing through Esplanade Charles de Gaulle, the steps of the Hôtel de Ville (City Hall), and the Jard gardens.
Genres coexist without hierarchy: pop, rock, French variety, choirs, accordion, traditional and contemporary music, electro, and house. Choirs, music schools, and associative groups complement the concerts offered by local and guest bands.
The Fête de la Musique 2026 in Épernay will be held on Sunday, June 21st, free of charge throughout the city. Around fifty concerts will enliven the squares, streets, and gardens of the city center, from amateur groups to invited ensembles, in all styles.
