The car race in the heart of the Champagne vineyards
The Rallye Épernay Vins de Champagne is an automotive event that combines passion for motorsport and Champagne wine tradition. Since 1995, this rally organized by the ASAC de Champagne (Association Sportive Automobile Champagne) offers a unique setting for drivers and spectators: the winding roads of the Champagne hillsides, emblematic wine villages, and landscapes listed as UNESCO World Heritage.
The rally takes place around Damery, a wine-growing commune located between Épernay and Château-Thierry. The course, approximately 71 km long, includes three special stages totaling nearly 40 km of timed sections. The crews cross the villages of Cormoyeux, Fleury-la-Rivière, Venteuil, and the vineyard roads, facing tight turns, elevation changes, and varied surfaces in a spectacular setting.
The Rallye Épernay Vins de Champagne is registered in the Coupe de France des Rallyes (second division since 2015). It also hosts a Rallye VHC (Véhicules Historiques de Compétition) event, allowing vintage cars to compete in their category. The event attracts amateur and experienced crews from all over France, making each edition a benchmark sporting event in Champagne.
Beyond the competition, the rally is a moment of popular celebration for the region's inhabitants and visitors. The service park set up in Damery allows the public to discover the racing cars, watch the mechanics at work, and experience the rally atmosphere up close with the crews. The local flavors of the Champagne vineyards accompany this sporting and friendly day.
The 28th edition of the Épernay Vins de Champagne National Rally takes place on October 31st and November 1st, 2026, starting and finishing at the Place de la Mairie in Damery. Organized by ASAC de Champagne (Grand Est league), this edition hosts the final of the French Rally Cup 2nd division, which brings together the best national crews in the Champagne hillsides and vineyards classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The rally also includes a VHC (Historic Competition Vehicles) event open to classic cars. The service park, located in Damery, allows the public to discover the vehicles and the race atmosphere for free.
The detailed program (special stage times, route, and entries) is published by the organizer closer to the event on the ASAC de Champagne website and the official rally Facebook page.
The start and finish of the rally are set at the town hall square in Damery.
