Every June 21st, Lunel celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): the cité pescalune offers an eclectic and free program in its squares and city center. For the 2026 edition, the City of Lunel celebrates music on Saturday, June 20th in the evening and Sunday, June 21st in the morning, with concerts of jazz, blues, swing, rock, cumbia, French song, and world music. Organized by the City of Lunel, the festival is entirely free.

As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique takes over public spaces every June 21st. In Lunel, in Hérault, the cité pescalune celebrates music in all its forms: for its 44th anniversary, the 2026 edition takes place on Saturday, June 20th throughout the evening and Sunday, June 21st in the morning, with a rich program of concerts spread across the city's emblematic sites.
A festival throughout the city center
The festival takes over the squares and courtyards of Lunel's historic center: Cours Gabriel Péri, Place de la République, Place des Caladons (Jean Jaurès), Place des Martyrs de la Résistance and Place Louis Rey become so many open-air stages. Balkan brass bands, soul, blues, swing, cumbia, French song, tributes and Eastern music follow one another from early evening until late, before a musical finale on Sunday morning.
