About Music Festival in Nice
Every June 21, Nice celebrates the Fête de la Musique: amateur musicians, conservatory students, and professional artists perform for free in squares, in the alleys of Vieux-Nice, and along the Promenade. Organized by the City of Nice, the day is entirely free and open to all, featuring all musical styles.
The Fête de la Musique in Nice
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Nice into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces, from mid-afternoon until the heart of the night, in all genres and for all audiences: rock, chanson, jazz, musette, classical, world music, and electro.
A celebration throughout the city
Usually, the festival unfolds in the heart of Nice: Place Masséna, with its checkerboard of pink and black paving stones, hosts the most emblematic stage, while the baroque alleys of Vieux-Nice buzz with multiple and spontaneous concerts. The Promenade du Paillon, the Promenade des Anglais, and numerous neighborhoods (Cimiez, Libération, Les Moulins) extend the celebration, complemented by initiatives from bars, associations, conservatories, and music schools.

Usually, the festival unfolds free of charge in the heart of Nice: Place Masséna for the main stage, the streets of Vieux-Nice for spontaneous concerts, as well as the Promenade du Paillon, the Promenade des Anglais, and several neighborhoods (Cimiez, Libération, Les Moulins).
On the occasion of June 21st, 2026, the City of Nice is also organizing a free giant karaoke, "Nice Chante l'Europe!", at Parc du Ray (avenue du Ray) from 5 PM to 10:30 PM: clips broadcast on giant screens, quizzes, entertainment, and food trucks in a friendly atmosphere.
