Every June 21, Poitiers celebrates the Fête de la Musique: amateur musicians, local bands, and established artists play for free in squares, streets, and on city center terraces. Organized by the City of Poitiers, this major popular event is entirely free, open to all musicians and all musical genres.
Music Festival in Poitiers — edition 2026
Originally planned for June 21st, 2026, the free Fête de la musique in Poitiers was cancelled due to extreme heat and rescheduled for Saturday, September 5th, featuring concerts, DJs in the city center, and fireworks at Parc de Blossac.
On June 19th, 2026, the Mayor of Poitiers cancelled the Fête de la musique, which was set for Sunday, June 21st, along with all other public outdoor events until the following Tuesday, due to a severe heatwave. The City rescheduled the event for Saturday, September 5th, 2026, coinciding with the fireworks display at Parc de Blossac that could not be held on July 14th.

Usually, numerous stages are set up in the streets and squares of the historic center, where regional artists and talents of all genres can be discovered.
