About Music Festival in Poitiers
Every June 21, Poitiers celebrates the Fête de la Musique: amateur musicians, local bands, and established artists play for free in squares, streets, and on city center terraces. Organized by the City of Poitiers, this major popular event is entirely free, open to all musicians and all musical genres.
The Fête de la Musique in Poitiers
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Poitiers into an open-air stage every June 21. Live music freely takes over public spaces, from the afternoon until the heart of the night, in all styles and for all audiences.
A celebration throughout the city center
Usually, numerous stages are set up in the streets and squares of the historic center, where regional artists and talents of all genres can be discovered. The city's bars and restaurants also participate in the evening, with concerts on terraces or inside their establishments. The event is organized by the Culture-Heritage Department of the City of Poitiers.
