Every June 21, Ris-Orangis celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): local bands, choirs, open mic, and DJ sets perform for free outdoors, from the Town Hall square to the vicinity of the Sacré-Cœur church. Organized by the City of Ris-Orangis, this festive evening is entirely free and open to everyone, with family, friends, or neighbors.
The Fête de la Musique in Ris-Orangis
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Ris-Orangis, in Essonne, into an open-air stage every June 21. On the occasion of the summer solstice and the shortest night of the year, music freely takes over public spaces, from mid-afternoon until late in the evening, in all genres and for all audiences.
A festive evening in the heart of the city
Usually, the festival focuses on the Town Hall square, transformed into an open-air stage, with a program mixing live concerts, choirs, open mic, and DJ sets. The evening brings together local bands and guest artists in a friendly and warm atmosphere, with light refreshments and a drinks stall on site. The Sacré-Cœur church also hosts a musical moment, in the tradition of previous editions.

Usually, the festival unfolds free of charge on the esplanade of the Hôtel de Ville (City Hall), transformed into an open-air stage, with live concerts, choirs, an open stage, and DJ sets, as well as a musical moment near the Église du Sacré-Cœur (Sacred Heart Church). Light refreshments and a drink stand are generally available on site.
