The Fête de la Musique in Saint-Flour
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the sub-prefecture of Cantal into an open-air stage every June 21. To celebrate the arrival of summer, amateur and professional musicians of all levels and styles freely take over public spaces, from the upper town perched on its basalt rock to the faubourg, in the evening and late into the night.

Usually, activities are concentrated around the bandstand of the allées Georges Pompidou and in the city center streets, with the participation of students and ensembles from the Saint-Flour Communauté conservatory and the city's bars.
