Over 50 artists on 4 stages in the city center on June 21, 2026
Every June 21, Saumur celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): concerts, choirs, dance demonstrations, and street music freely take over the streets and squares of the city center. Organized by the Ville de Saumur, the 2026 edition brings together over 50 artists spread across four stages, from the main stage in Place de la République to festive wandering throughout the city.
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Saumur into an open-air stage every June 21. The city center is given over to musicians and strollers: amateurs and professionals, local talents and established artists play for free, from mid-afternoon until the heart of the night, in all genres and for all audiences.
For 2026, the Ville de Saumur offers a program bringing together over 50 artists and about twenty musical performances spread across four stages, complemented by concerts from shopkeepers, associations, and music schools. From classical to electronic, from song to hip-hop, from choirs to brass bands, the festival highlights the diversity of musical practices and fosters encounters between artists, shopkeepers, and residents.
The day revolves around the main stage set up in Place de la République, the Small Stage dedicated to local talents in Place Dupetit Thouars, an area dedicated to dance in Place de la Bilange, and a festive parade through the streets, not to mention the twenty or so locations in the city center that host concerts, choirs, and street music.
The Fête de la Musique 2026 in Saumur will take place on Sunday, June 21, from 3 PM to midnight, free of charge throughout the city center. More than 50 artists will be spread across four stages, centered around the main stage in Place de la République, complemented by concerts and choirs in about twenty other venues.
Overview of the stages announced for the 2026 edition:
Four artists will perform consecutively on the main stage: Dreadou Dub (electro world), Waldden (chanson), Gros Monsieur (afro pop song) and House of Brass (techno brass).
Coordinated by Effervescences, this open stage highlights local Saumur talents: Lévine Punker, Vanessa Diane Zhang, Ri Gué Dam and My Only Vice.
