About Musique dans les Vignes

Created in 2017 by the Société des Concerts Populaires d'Angers, the Musique dans les Vignes festival offers a nine-day musical journey in the heart of the Savennières vineyards every end of June. Twenty-four chamber music concerts are held in prestigious wine estates — Château de Chamboureau, l'Aiglerie, Château de la Bizolière, Coulée de Serrant — combining musical discoveries, meetings with winegrowers, and tastings. Internationally renowned artists lead masterclasses for about twenty students from major European conservatories.

Music in the Vines: when classical music marries the vineyard

Since 2017, the Musique dans les Vignes festival has offered a unique experience at the crossroads of music, wine, and heritage. Organized by the Société des Concerts Populaires d'Angers, this chamber classical music festival unfolds over nine days in late June in the most prestigious wine estates of the Savennières vineyard, a few kilometers from Angers, in the Loire Valley (a UNESCO World Heritage site).

Twenty-five concerts in exceptional settings

The concerts take place in venues steeped in history and character, all classified as AOC Savennières: Château de Chamboureau, l'Aiglerie, Château d'Épiré, Manoir des Lauriers, and the mythical Coulée de Serrant, one of the most famous wine estates in the Loire Valley. In each edition, the diversity of formats is at the heart of the program: large public concerts, secret and intimate concerts in unusual locations, sunrise and sunset recitals, candlelight concerts, torchlight concerts, activities for children, and closing candlelight dinner-concerts.

Internationally renowned artists

Each year, the festival invites leading musicians from the international classical scene. The artistic direction has been provided since 2018 by cellist Antoine Landowski (member of the Trio Chausson). Recent editions have welcomed Claire Désert and Florent Boffard (pianists, professors at the CNSMD de Paris), Philippe Graffin and Julien Szulman (violins), Manuel Vioque-Judde (viola), Marc Coppey (cello), and Laurène Durantel (double bass). The repertoire highlights chamber music classics, with works by Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, Schumann, Dvořák, Prokofiev, Ravel, and other great composers.

An academy and tastings

Since 2019, the festival has included an academy that welcomes around twenty students from major European conservatories (Paris, Brussels, Lyon) for public masterclasses led by guest artists. The students perform in dedicated free-access concerts. Meetings with winemakers and tastings of exceptional vintages punctuate the festival, creating a natural link between the world of music and that of wine.

Musique dans les Vignes — edition 2026

The 10th edition of the Musique dans les Vignes festival will take place from June 20 to 28, 2026, in the wine estates of Savennières. Nine days of festivities, 25 classical chamber music concerts, public masterclasses, tastings, and meetings with winemakers in an exceptional heritage setting in the Val de Loire.
