Musique dans les Vignes: When Classical Music Meets the Vineyard

Since 2017, the Musique dans les Vignes festival has offered a unique experience at the crossroads of music, wine, and heritage. Organized by the Société des Concerts Populaires d'Angers, this chamber music festival unfolds over nine days at the end of June in the most prestigious wine estates of the Savennières vineyard, a few kilometers from Angers.

Twenty-four Concerts in Exceptional Settings

The concerts take place in venues steeped in history and character: Château de Chamboureau, l'Aiglerie, Château de la Bizolière, and the mythical Coulée de Serrant, one of the most famous wine estates in the Loire Valley. The diversity of formats is at the heart of the festival: major public concerts, secret and intimate concerts, sunrise and sunset recitals, candlelit concerts, torchlight concerts, children's activities, and candlelit dinner-concerts to close the event.

Internationally Renowned Artists

Each year, the festival invites leading musicians from the international classical scene. The 2025 edition featured Claire Désert and Florent Boffard (pianists), Philippe Graffin (violinist), Violaine Despeyroux, Antoine Landowski, Marc Coppey (cellist), and Laurène Durantel. The repertoire highlights chamber music classics, with works by Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, and other great composers.

An Academy and Tastings

The festival includes an academy that hosts about twenty students from major European conservatories for masterclasses led by guest artists. The students perform in dedicated concerts. Meetings with winegrowers and tastings punctuate the festival, creating a natural link between the world of music and wine.
