Classical music concerts and wine tastings in the heart of the Madiran vineyard
For nearly thirty years, the Musique et Vins en Madiran festival has combined musical excellence and the wine heritage of the Hautes-Pyrénées. The concerts take place in historic locations: the Romanesque church of Madiran (11th century) and its crypt, the Château de Crouseilles on its 19th-century feudal motte, the Saint-André de Soublecause church, the church of Aydie, and Château Montus.
The festival hosts top-level classical and jazz musicians. The 2025 edition notably featured the Naamloze Trio (jazz), cellist Lucile Chaubard (trained in the conservatories of Toulouse, Tarbes, London, Barcelona, and Berlin), and pianist Diana Cooper (laureate of the Chopin Competition in Warsaw and the Royal College of Music in London).
A symbolic moment of the festival, one of the invited artists is inducted into the Confrérie des Vins de Madiran, thus sealing the union between music and the vineyard. The free tastings that follow each church concert allow the public to discover the vintages of the Madiran and Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh appellations.
For its 30th season, the Musique et Vins en Madiran festival returns in July 2026 with a program combining classical and jazz music in the emblematic locations of the vineyard: the Romanesque church of Madiran, Château de Crouseilles, Château Montus. Concerts in churches will be followed by the traditional free wine tastings of Madiran and Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh appellation wines.
Madiran is located in the northwest of the Hautes-Pyrénées, about 40 km from Tarbes.
Concerts are ticketed. Free wine tastings after concerts in churches.
