A festival of excellence since 1992

Founded in 1992 by the association Musiques sur la Ville, the Festival des Musiques d'Ici et d'Ailleurs has established itself as an essential national cultural event for local life. For over thirty years, it has developed a demanding yet accessible artistic program, highlighting world music in all its diversity.

An international program

Each summer, the festival welcomes artists from around the world: USA, Madagascar, Guatemala, New Zealand, Greece, Jamaica, Peru, Senegal, Tunisia, China, and many other countries. The program emphasizes original creations, representing nearly 100% of the shows offered. This unique approach allows the public to discover new artistic projects blending musical traditions and contemporary creation.

A traveling festival

Concerts take place in several towns: Châlons-en-Champagne, Sainte-Ménehould, Saint-Martin-sur-le-Pré, Saint-Memmie, and Vitry-le-François. In Sainte-Ménehould, concerts are held at the Square place d'Austerlitz in a friendly outdoor atmosphere. This traveling nature brings music closer to residents of priority neighborhoods and rural areas.

A commitment to creation and transmission

The festival is strongly committed to supporting artistic creation through artist residencies and the promotion of emerging projects. Educational workshops are offered to young people in priority neighborhoods, and family-friendly shows are programmed in residential areas, promoting access to culture for all.
