Craft beer and world music festival on Île de Batz
Pab Fest is a festival born in 2024 on Île de Batz, in Finistère, combining Breton craft beers and world music. Organized by the association Mignoned ar Pab in conjunction with Microbrasserie PAB, this island and free festival offers a market of local brewers, eclectic concerts, live shows, and entertainment in a festive and friendly atmosphere. For three days in June, the island transforms into a meeting place for craft brewers, musicians, and visitors, celebrating Breton brewing art and musical diversity in an exceptional maritime setting.
Pab Fest was born in 2024 on Île de Batz, a small island gem off the coast of Roscoff in Finistère Nord. This unique festival combines two passions: Breton craft beers and world music, in the warm and relaxed atmosphere of a Breton island with 500 inhabitants.
The heart of Pab Fest beats to the rhythm of its craft beer market. The best breweries in Brittany gather on the island: Brasserie Graphique from Carantec, Kerav'ale from Roscoff, Plijadur from Douarnenez, and of course, Microbrasserie PAB, the island brewery that originated the festival. Visitors can taste distinctive beers, meet the brewers, and discover the secrets behind these artisanal beverages.
The musical programming of Pab Fest is in line with its spirit: eclectic and open to the world. World music groups, rock bands, folk artists, and others perform in the evenings at the Le PAB restaurant-bar and outdoors, offering concerts in an exceptional maritime setting. The festival also hosts original live shows: aerial pole, ventriloquism, and artistic performances.
Driven by the association Mignoned ar Pab (“The Friends of PAB” in Breton), the festival embodies the island spirit: solidarity, conviviality, and openness. Entry is free, based on voluntary contributions, making the event accessible to all. Tattoo artists are also present, adding an extra artistic dimension to this extraordinary festival.
Île de Batz, accessible by a 15-minute boat ride from Roscoff, offers a preserved natural setting for this human-scale festival. Visitors are invited to extend the experience by staying on the island, whether in camping, bed and breakfasts, or rentals. Pab Fest transforms this peaceful island into a place of celebration and discovery, where craft beer and music build bridges between cultures.
