The Passe-Portes Festival was born in 2009 on the Île de Ré with a first edition from June 11 to 14 in Les Portes-en-Ré. Since then, it has become an unmissable event between young performing artists, the public, and cultural professionals. The festival aims to promote young French companies and offer them a showcase to present their creations.
For several days in June, the Île de Ré transforms into a true open-air stage. About fifteen street theater, circus, and contemporary dance performances are offered in different locations on the island. This diversity of disciplines and performance spaces allows the festival to reach a wide audience and create unexpected artistic encounters.
One of the festival's unique features is its community approach.
