Piccol'Estivale is the inaugural edition of a music festival blending classical and jazz, taking place from July 13th to 19th in the Deux-Sèvres department. Supported by the town of Alloinay, the festival features five musical programs presented at its main site in Alloinay, with additional performances hosted at various partner locations throughout the region.
The festival is produced by PiccolaProd, a production company founded by professional opera singer Faustine Picco. Dedicated to making music accessible and ensuring fair pay for artists, PiccolaProd builds on local initiatives launched in 2020, first as an association and now as a company established in 2025.
In a department where jazz plays a vital role in cultural life, Piccol'Estivale aims to build bridges between jazz and classical music audiences. The festival also seeks to break down barriers to classical music, whether they are economic, cultural, or related to its sometimes elitist image.
The goal is simple: to offer a high-quality artistic program while creating a welcoming, inclusive event deeply rooted in the local community. To achieve this, several initiatives are in place:
- a partnership with a local recreation center, allowing children to attend a performance and meet the artists;
- an accessible pricing policy, including discounted tickets for residents of senior living facilities;
- a "solidarity" ticket option, funded by a "committed" ticket tier, to encourage wider access to concerts;
- free public access to the site during specific times, allowing locals and visitors to discover the artists and experience music in an informal setting;
- three free off-site events organized in partnership with local stakeholders.
Through this first edition, Piccol'Estivale hopes to contribute to the cultural vibrancy of the Deux-Sèvres region, strengthen ties between residents, artists, and local partners, and lay the foundation for a lasting fixture in the local cultural landscape.
