An ephemeral village dedicated to digital technology

Place du Numérique is an original event that transforms a central square in Tours into an ephemeral village entirely dedicated to digital technology. Organized by CRIJ Centre-Val de Loire (Regional Youth Information Center) and Youth Information structures, this event is part of the regional Humain & Tech program supported by the Centre-Val de Loire Region.

Five discovery spaces

The ephemeral village consists of five complementary thematic spaces:

• Artificial Intelligence Space: AI discovery workshops, demonstrations of concrete applications, discussions with experts on the challenges of artificial intelligence and diversity in digital technology.
• E-sport and Video Games Space: discovery of e-sport professions, meeting with video game studios from the Centre-Val de Loire region, and gaming sessions.
• Robotics and Coding Space: introduction to programming and robotics, coding workshops for beginners, and robot demonstrations.
• Virtual Reality Space: discovery of digital professions through virtual reality, immersion in professional environments.
• Orientation Space: information on digital training and professions, meeting with industry professionals.

An event for young people and the general public

Place du Numérique is particularly aimed at young people and job seekers, but remains open to all audiences curious to discover the opportunities of digital technology. Personalized educational programs are offered to organized groups (classes, youth structures, local missions), while individual visitors can explore each space at their own pace and receive personalized support.

A regional tour

Place du Numérique is part of a regional tour that unfolds in six cities in the Centre-Val de Loire, with a local ambassador from the digital world at each stop. The Tours stop benefits from the presence of local experts and entrepreneurs specializing in digital transformation, who share their experiences and inspire visitors. The event helps to reduce the digital divide and raise public awareness of responsible digital practices.
