Procession de la Trinité — edition 2026
The Trinity Procession (A Santa Trinità) is a traditional religious pilgrimage that takes place at the Trinity hermitage, about 8 km from Bonifacio towards Sartène (Corse-du-Sud). Perched at an altitude of 200 meters at the foot of Mount Trinité, this 13th-century sanctuary offers an exceptional panorama of the cliffs of Bonifacio and the Mediterranean.
The feast of the Most Holy Trinity is celebrated on the Sunday following Pentecost. In 2026, the solemnity of the Trinity falls on Sunday, May 31st. It is one of the three major annual pilgrimages of the hermitage, alongside the Nativity of the Virgin (September 8th) and Our Lady of Fatima.
The day combines religious fervor and Bonifacian conviviality: morning masses, a shared lunch on the rocks — with the tradition of Bonifacian stuffed eggplants — followed by vespers and a procession in the late afternoon.
