ℹ️ Festival discontinued. The Literary and Artistic Fortnight of Atelier Imaginaire no longer seems to be held since the October 2020 edition. At the time of our editorial verification (June 2026), no public source (organizer, Tarbes town hall, tourist office, local press, regional cultural agendas) announced an edition for 2021 and subsequent years. If a new edition were to be organized, this page would be updated.

Literary Fortnight: Art and Literature at the Heart of Tarbes

From 1985 to 2020, the Literary and Artistic Fortnight of Atelier Imaginaire was a major cultural event of the Tarbes autumn. For two weeks in October, the Atelier Imaginaire association offered a dense program combining literature, theatre, music, visual arts, and intellectual encounters.

The Decade and the Magic Days

The festival was structured around two highlights:

• The Magic Days at Hôtel Brauhauban: every evening at 5:30 PM, readings, recitals, concerts, and intimate performances
• The Magic Evening at Théâtre des Nouveautés: a grand theatrical and musical evening
• The Decade: presentation of a collective work bringing together some sixty writers and artists

A Crossroads of Writers and Artists

Each edition brought together some sixty writers and artists around a collective book presented during a major day of encounters. The festival fostered dialogue between literature, music, theatre, and visual arts in a spirit of openness and creativity. The 35th edition was held in October 2019 (presentation of the "Livre de l'autre"), followed by an edition from October 8 to 21, 2020; no subsequent edition has been documented.
