Reims Urban Nature: The City as a Playground
Created in 2021 by the City of Reims, Reims Urban Nature was born from the desire to offer Reims residents a real breath of nature and well-being in an urban environment. This free festival, which unfolds over two weeks in June, transforms the entire city into a vast outdoor sports and leisure area.
A Rich and Diverse Program
The Reims Urban Nature program is remarkably rich. More than 80 disciplines are offered thanks to the involvement of nearly 35 Reims associations. Sports activities such as Nordic walking, trail running, kayaking, rollerblading, pétanque, climbing, or yoga are alongside cultural and discovery activities: guided urban tours, night walks, beekeeping activities, eco-jogging, nature workshops.
Iconic Locations Taken Over
One of the original aspects of Reims Urban Nature is bringing sport and culture out of traditional venues to occupy unusual places. The Parc de Champagne, the Sablières, the Parc Marcel Lemaire, and many other green spaces become ephemeral playgrounds. The city's museums and cultural venues also participate in the event, creating unprecedented bridges between sport, culture, and heritage.
Accessible to All and Free
Reims Urban Nature is open to all residents of Reims and Grand Reims. The activities are completely free and suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced athletes. Families, children, seniors, and people with disabilities can find activities tailored to their desires and abilities.
An Eco-Responsible Event
In line with its name, Reims Urban Nature is committed to raising awareness about the environment and sustainable development. Eco-jogging activities (collecting waste while running), urban biodiversity discovery workshops, and activities focused on nature in the city are an integral part of the program.
