Ritournelles Festival

The organizing association, Permanences de la littérature, has since refocused its activities on the "Littérature en jardin" festival and the web-radio Radio Ritournelles. Ritournelles, where literature met the arts

The Ritournelles Festival was a unique cultural event in Bordeaux, organized by the Permanences de la littérature association. For twenty years, it explored the intersections between literature, sound arts, cinema, music, and video games, offering a transdisciplinary artistic experience.

A multidisciplinary program

Each edition revolved around a unifying theme presented through readings, performances, screenings, concerts, sound installations, and meetings with authors. The festival invited audiences to discover literature in unexpected and contemporary forms, in numerous partner venues in Bordeaux and Nouvelle-Aquitaine (bookstores, media libraries, theaters, cinemas, art galleries).

Meetings and workshops

The festival offered meetings with writers, artists, and creators, as well as writing and creative workshops. These shared moments allowed the public to actively engage in the artistic experience.

The end of an adventure

The 20th edition, in November 2019, was the last. It was accompanied by the publication of the book « Ritournelles, 20 ans de création littéraire transversale » (Ritournelles, 20 years of transversal literary creation). Since then, the spirit of the festival continues through the "Littérature en jardin" festival and the web-radio Radio Ritournelles, still supported by Permanences de la littérature.
