Friendly and family-oriented rock festival in a rural setting
Rock'en Pleurs is a rock music festival created in 2013 in the village of Pleurs, in the heart of the Marne. Organized by the association Familles Rurales de Pleurs, this cultural event combines rock concerts, exhibitions of vintage vehicles, motorcycles, local products, and family activities. Held at the Ancienne Laiterie site, the festival showcases regional artists while welcoming national headliners, in a spirit of conviviality and accessibility.
Created in 2013 by the association Familles Rurales de Pleurs, the Rock'en Pleurs festival was born from the desire to energize the cultural life of a small village in the Marne region with about 1,000 inhabitants. The association, with nearly 40 years of existence and over 140 member families, carries this project with its cherished values: creating social bonds, developing solidarity, improving the living conditions of families, and animating the rural territory.
The festival takes place at the Ancienne Laiterie, located at 56 rue du Général Leclerc in Pleurs. This place, steeped in local industrial history, offers an original and authentic setting for outdoor concerts and the festival's many activities. The village of Pleurs, situated southwest of a triangle formed by Reims, Troyes, and Paris, transforms for a weekend into a true place of celebration and sharing.
Beyond the rock concerts that form the core of the programming, Rock'en Pleurs offers a rich and varied program. The gathering of vintage vehicles and motorcycles, a village of local artisans and producers, tattoo artists, children's games, and friendly catering complete the musical offering. This diversity of activities makes the festival a popular family and intergenerational event throughout the region.
The musical programming of Rock'en Pleurs gives an important place to regional artists, while also inviting national groups to ensure the event's visibility. The festival has notably hosted Les Ramoneurs de Menhirs, Opium du Peuple, La Punkaravane, Cachemire, The Black Clover, and many other bands from the French rock scene. Celtic rock, punk rock, and alternative rock are the festival's preferred genres.
