RTL2 Essonne en Scène Festival: Music and Heritage in Essonne
Since its creation, the RTL2 Essonne en Scène Festival has found one of the most beautiful settings in the region to host its open-air concerts: the Domaine départemental de Chamarande, owned by the Departmental Council of Essonne. This exceptional 17th-century estate, comprising a listed castle and 98 hectares of French gardens labeled 'Jardin Remarquable', offers an incomparable natural backdrop for a festival combining musical pleasure and heritage discovery.
A Festival Open to the General Public
Associated with the radio station RTL2 since 2023, the festival has taken on a new dimension in terms of recognition and programming. Each edition brings together thousands of fans of rock, pop, indie, and contemporary music in a festive and relaxed atmosphere. The diverse and family-friendly audience can enjoy the concerts while strolling through the park's paths or picnicking on the lawns.
An Exceptional Natural Site
The Domaine de Chamarande (38 rue du Commandant Arnoux, 91730 Chamarande) is one of the most beautiful natural estates in Île-de-France. Its 17th-century castle, formal gardens, ponds, tree-lined avenues, and natural spaces make it a unique location, usually open to the public free of charge. The festival temporarily transforms this haven of peace into an open-air stage for the delight of festival-goers.
The 2024 Edition
The 2024 edition took place on August 30 and 31, 2024, at the Domaine de Chamarande. The festival brought together several thousand festival-goers for a quality pop-rock lineup, featuring renowned French and international artists. The estate's setting once again enhanced the musical experience, confirming the event's unique appeal.
The 2026 Edition — A Return in April
After a break in 2025, the RTL2 Essonne en Scène Festival returns in 2026 with an edition scheduled for April 4 and 5, 2026, at the Domaine de Chamarande. This spring edition — a first — promises an even more floral setting and a renewed program. The earlier date in the year changes the atmosphere: blooming cherry trees and the first spring shoots will contrast with the power of electric guitars.
A Festival Rooted in the Territory
Supported by the Conseil départemental de l'Essonne and RTL2, the festival actively contributes to the cultural influence of the department. It showcases remarkable natural and architectural heritage while demonstrating that contemporary music can coexist harmoniously with historic sites.
