4 jazz evenings under the stars in the Parc de Sceaux
The Sceaux Jazz Festival brings together four evenings of open-air jazz each summer in June in the exceptional setting of the Cour d'honneur of the Château du Domaine départemental de Sceaux. Founded in 2021 by Les Gémeaux, it offers jazz accessible to all ears, from traditional to contemporary, bringing together established artists and emerging talents in a unique baroque setting just a few minutes from Paris.
Born in June 2021 in the wake of the post-pandemic cultural reopening, the Sceaux Jazz Festival immediately established itself as one of the essential jazz events in the Île-de-France region. Organized by Les Gémeaux, a national stage for the southern Paris agglomeration, the event takes advantage of the incomparable setting offered by the Cour d'honneur of the Château du Domaine départemental de Sceaux: French gardens inspired by Versailles, classical architecture, and a starry sky form a natural backdrop conducive to music.
The festival's philosophy is based on a strong conviction: jazz must be accessible to all ears, whether they are seasoned music lovers or curious neophytes. Each edition brings together artists from diverse backgrounds, from traditional jazz to contemporary jazz, including soul, fusion, and electronic experiments. The evenings alternate between international headliners and revelations from the new French scene.
In 2024, the 3rd edition notably featured Dhafer Youssef, the world-renowned Tunisian singer and oud player, alongside Thomas De Pourquery, Gauthier Toux, and Léon Phal. The festival also offered free concerts for families, affirming its commitment to openness to all audiences.
For its 4th edition from June 11 to 14, 2026, the Sceaux Jazz Festival presents a program driven by a large female representation and artists with unique universes. Singer Yael Naim, revealed to the general public by her hit song "New Soul," will take the stage on the opening Thursday. Rhoda Scott & Lady Quartet, the legendary American organist and her all-female ensemble, will transport the audience to the heart of traditional jazz on Friday.
Saturday will honor Lakecia Benjamin, a New York saxophonist hailed as one of the most innovative voices in contemporary jazz, before an evening closing by Jeanne Cherhal, a French singer-songwriter whose poetic world is tinged with jazz and chanson. Finally, Sunday will crown the edition with the exceptional duo Roberto Fonseca & Vincent Segal, an improbable and brilliant reunion of the Cuban pianist and the French cellist.
Free concerts — including those by Antonin Leymarie for young audiences on Saturday and Sunday afternoons — complete this dense program, ensuring access to the festival for all budgets.
