Jazz under the stars in Sceaux
Born in June 2021 in the wake of the post-pandemic cultural reopening, the Sceaux Jazz Festival immediately established itself as one of the essential jazz events in Île-de-France. Organized by Les Gémeaux, a national stage in the southern Paris agglomeration, the event takes advantage of the incomparable setting offered by the Cour d'honneur du château du Domaine départemental de Sceaux: French gardens inspired by Versailles, classical architecture, and a starry sky form a naturally conducive setting for music.
An eclectic and demanding program
The festival's philosophy is based on a strong conviction: jazz must be accessible to all ears, whether seasoned music lovers or curious newcomers. Each edition brings together artists from varied backgrounds, from traditional to contemporary jazz, including soul, fusion, and electronic experiments. Evenings alternate between international headliners and revelations from the new French scene.
In 2024, the 3rd edition notably welcomed Dhafer Youssef, the world-renowned Tunisian singer and oud player, alongside Thomas De Pourquery, Gauthier Toux, and Léon Phal. The festival also offered free admission concerts for families, affirming its desire to be open to all audiences.
The 4th edition in 2026: a feminine and universal program
For its 4th edition from June 11 to 14, 2026, the Sceaux Jazz Festival presents a program featuring a strong female representation and artists with unique universes. Singer Keren Ann, a major author, composer, and performer on the French music scene, nominated three times for the Victoires de la Musique, will open the stage on Thursday. Friday features a co-bill with Gildaa, an artist with a unique universe, blending Brazilian soul and French chanson, and Anne Paceo, drummer and composer, three-time winner of the Victoires de la Musique.
Saturday honors Lakecia Benjamin, the New York saxophonist hailed as one of the most innovative voices in contemporary jazz, before an evening closing by Jeanne Cherhal, a French singer-songwriter whose poetic world is tinged with jazz and chanson. Finally, Sunday crowns the edition with the exceptional duo Roberto Fonseca & Vincent Segal, an improbable and brilliant reunion of the Cuban pianist and the French cellist.
Free admission concerts — those by Lou Rivaille, ElliAViR on Saturday and Vega Trails on Sunday — complete this dense program, ensuring access to the festival for all budgets.
For the little ones, a family concert around the creation "Morphing" by Antonin Leymarie will take place on Saturday and Sunday at 3 PM.
