Scènes Buissonnières: an itinerant festival in Gironde
Scènes Buissonnières is an open-air performing arts festival organized in the territory of the Montesquieu community of communes, in Gironde, south of Bordeaux. Born over twenty years ago in Léognan, the event has since toured almost all the villages of the community, transforming a different commune each summer into a large open-air stage.
A multidisciplinary and free program
The festival offers a rich and diverse program mixing:
- Theatre and street arts
- Dance
- Music and singing
- Public readings
- Improvisation and participatory performances
Over 40 free shows are scheduled over the three days of the festival, in locations specially invested for the occasion: town center, village squares, gardens, market halls, natural spaces.
The Scènes d'été de Gironde label
Scènes Buissonnières is labelled Scènes d'été de Gironde, a scheme supported by the Department of Gironde which distinguishes quality summer cultural events in rural areas. This label guarantees financial support and departmental visibility for the festival.
A strong territorial anchoring
The organization relies on local associations, the municipalities of the Montesquieu community of communes, and a large network of volunteers. This territorial involvement is at the heart of the festival's identity: each edition is an opportunity to discover a different village, its heritage, its inhabitants, and its local producers.
The 2026 edition in Saint-Selve
Twenty-four years after its birth in Léognan, the festival returns near its cradle and settles in Saint-Selve from July 3rd to 5th, 2026. The commune will host shows, concerts, and performances in the town center, with an expected attendance of approximately 8,000 spectators over the three days. The full program will be unveiled in spring.
Conviviality and sharing
Beyond the artistic program, Scènes Buissonnières is a place for meeting and sharing where artists, residents, and visitors mingle in a warm and festive atmosphere. Refreshment stands, local food, and convivial spaces punctuate the event, extending the pleasure of the shows in a village festival atmosphere.

Scènes Buissonnières — 2026 Edition in Saint-Selve
From July 3rd to 5th, 2026, the Scènes Buissonnières festival will take place in Saint-Selve for three days of free, open-air live performances, accessible to all.
A Return Near the Cradle
Twenty-four years after the first edition organized in Léognan, the itinerant festival returns to settle in the neighboring commune of Saint-Selve, after having traveled through almost all the communes of the Montesquieu community of communes. A symbolic return to the festival's roots.
Over 40 Free Shows
The 2026 program will offer over 40 shows over the three days, deployed in the town center of Saint-Selve and its surroundings. Multidisciplinarity on the program:
- Street theater and short outdoor forms
- Dance and choreographic performances
- Music and song (acoustic, polyphonic, jazz, contemporary music)
- Public readings and sound creations
- Improvisation and participatory forms
The complete program will be unveiled in spring 2026 on the official website and social media channels of the festival.
For All Audiences, All Free
As every year, the entire program is free. The shows are aimed at all audiences, with particular attention paid to family and young audience proposals. Expected attendance: approximately 8,000 spectators over the three days.
A Collective Organization
The 2026 edition is jointly supported by the permanent team of Scènes Buissonnières, the municipality of Saint-Selve, the Montesquieu community of communes, and a large network of local volunteers. The festival benefits from the Scènes d'été de Gironde label and the support of the Department of Gironde.

By car:
- From Bordeaux: approximately 30 minutes via the A62 (exit 1 - Pessac/Léognan) then the D108
- From Langon: approximately 25 minutes via the A62
- On-site parking in the town center and on the outskirts of the village
By public transport: TransGironde regional bus line 503 (Bordeaux ↔ Bazas), Saint-Selve stop.
