Cinema and gastronomy festival in Locronan
Born in 2022 in Locronan, Silence, ça Touille ! is a unique festival that boldly and deliciously blends two universal passions: cinema and gastronomy. Conceived by the association LA NIAC (Nouvelles Idées d'Actions Culturelles), this cultural and culinary event offers a complete sensory experience where the eyes feast as much as the taste buds.
The festival explores a theme as old as cinema itself: the Table. From Babette's lavish banquets to the family meals in Tampopo, from Indian street food to Italian feasts, food is a major narrative, emotional, and aesthetic element of the seventh art. Each year, Silence, ça Touille ! selects gastrosophical films—short films, documentaries, and features—from around the world that tell stories about food cultures, culinary traditions, and contemporary food issues.
The festival's originality lies in its immersive format. Each screening is accompanied by a themed tasting related to the films presented, transforming spectators into participants in their own culinary film. The evenings combine outdoor screenings, commented tastings of local products, gourmet concerts, and art exhibitions. The audience thus travels through the cuisines of the world—Spain, India, Japan, Italy—while discovering the gastronomic riches of Brittany's Cornouaille region.
The 2025 edition of Silence, ça Touille ! adopts an unprecedented itinerant format. From July 9 to August 13, every Wednesday, the festival sets up in five renowned cider houses along the cider route in Cornouaille, offering themed evenings combining screenings and tastings of ciders and local products. The journey culminates in a grand finale in Locronan on August 23 and 24, 2025, in the enchanting setting of one of France's most beautiful villages.
The festival is driven by the association LA NIAC (Nouvelles Idées d'Actions Culturelles), based in Locronan. This non-profit organization advocates for innovative, accessible, and locally rooted culture. By creating Silence, ça Touille !, LA NIAC has invented an original festival format that fosters dialogue between arts, flavors, and local know-how, contributing to the cultural and gastronomic influence of Finistère's Cornouaille region.
