An Electro Experience in the Heart of Orléans' Nature
Born in 2023, the Slow Electro Festival is a mini-electronic music festival that takes over the large lawn of the Parc Floral de La Source, a 35-hectare green space south of Orléans, at the end of each summer. The event offers an open-air evening where basslines mingle with birdsong and light shows dialogue with the park's ancient foliage. Supported by Orléans Métropole, this summer gathering is aimed at both electro enthusiasts and families looking for an original night out.
Three DJ Sets for a Progressive Build-Up
The concept of the Slow Electro Festival is based on a three-part program, with three artists or groups performing successively from 7:45 PM to midnight. Each set marks a stage in the evening: a soft and groovy opening, a more intense middle part of the evening, and then a hypnotic and powerful finale under the stars. Over the years, the festival has hosted artists with diverse styles: Labotanique and its vegetal pop with synthetic sounds, Laurel and her house music tinged with New York garage, Keeg and his electro-funk with saxophone, PAM in a pop-electro-funk DJ set, the trio Cameleon DJ mixing turntables, saxophone, and percussion on afro-house rhythms, Nikita and her French-Canadian electro mixes, or even M'Bee, Mack Swell, and the duo Rovinsky & Axelle Maga.
Parc Floral de La Source: An Exceptional Setting
The Parc Floral de La Source provides a unique setting for an electronic festival. Classified as a remarkable garden, this 35-hectare park is home to the resurgence of the Loiret river, exceptional botanical collections, and diverse wildlife. At night, the site transforms: a light design adorns the trees and paths, creating a magical atmosphere where electronic music resonates in harmony with nature. This symbiosis between electronic sounds and the natural environment is what makes the Slow Electro Festival so unique.
A Friendly and Gourmet Atmosphere
Beyond the music, the festival focuses on conviviality. Food trucks offer world cuisine, sweet treats, and appetizer platters throughout the evening. A bar area serves beers, wines, and champagne in a relaxed atmosphere. Festival-goers can also bring their own picnics to enjoy the lawn before the concerts begin. The entrance fee, which is the park's standard admission, makes the event particularly accessible, with free entry for children under 15 in some editions.
A Growing Annual Event
Since its first edition in August 2023, the Slow Electro Festival has built a loyal and growing audience—up to 6,000 visitors by the second edition in 2024. Scheduled annually on the last Saturday of August, it is part of the musical evenings at Parc Floral de La Source and confirms Orléans as a strong player in the electronic scene in the Centre-Val de Loire region.
