Classical music and environment festival in Cornouaille
Inaugurated in 2025, SuperNature Breizh is a unique festival that reinvents classical music by placing it at the heart of the natural landscapes of southern Finistère. Led by the Ensemble Musique et Danse en Normandie, this touring artistic event spans five days across several towns in Cornouaille: Concarneau, Fouesnant, La Forêt-Fouesnant, Elliant, Melgven, Pont-Aven, Tourc'h, and Trégunc.
The festival defines itself as "Classical Music... But Not Only!" and lives up to its promise with a bold program that blends piano, voice, dance, and contemporary creations. Performances are held outdoors in remarkable natural and architectural heritage sites, offering an immersive experience where music dialogues with the landscape. The inaugural edition featured composer Florentine Mulsant, whose work "Le Chant du Soleil" won an award at the Victoires de la Musique Classique 2024, as well as pieces by Debussy and Stravinsky revisited in the program "Sacré Printemps!".
Beyond concerts, SuperNature Breizh stands out with its "Nature Capsules", participatory workshops, and sensory experiences that link artistic creation with environmental awareness. These exchange sessions invite the public to discover local ecosystems while immersing themselves in music, making the festival a true laboratory for the encounter between art and nature.
The festival offers a program accessible to all ages. The performance "Chant de Coton", a musical tale for young and old, sits alongside demanding classical concerts like "Sacré Printemps!", a program for two and four-hand piano exploring spring in the worlds of modern and contemporary composers. Preludes and choreographies inspired by Beyoncé challenge expectations, creating an unexpected dialogue between art music and popular culture.
By choosing to be based in southern Finistère, SuperNature Breizh highlights a territory of exceptional natural and heritage richness. The festival contributes to the cultural influence of Cornouaille and offers locals and visitors a unique way to rediscover their landscapes through the lens of music and contemporary artistic creation.
The second edition of SuperNature Breizh is expected in June 2026 in southern Finistère. The program and exact dates will be announced later on the festival's official website.
