Tchouk'Art: Contemporary Circus in the Drôme Countryside
The Tchouk'Art Festival was born from the energy of the Compagnie Alea Jacta Est and its volunteer collective, the "Tchouk'Ami.e.s". Located in Mureils, a small village in the Drôme des Collines, this circus and street arts festival has become a must-attend event for contemporary creation in rural areas.
A Festival Dedicated to Young Talent
Tchouk'Art's stated goal is to give visibility to young talent and promote contemporary and circus creation. By programming emerging artists, the festival encourages artistic diversity and contributes to the cultural enrichment of the rural Drôme region. The disciplines represented are numerous: object juggling, circus, puppetry, clowning, music, tightrope walking, Chinese pole, acrobatic lifts, and hand balancing.
Two Days of Celebration by the River
The festival takes place over two days in August, on a tree-lined site by the river, offering an idyllic natural setting. Friday evening (7 PM - midnight) kicks off the festivities with shows and a circus cabaret. Saturday (1:30 PM - midnight) offers a full afternoon and evening of performances, concerts, batucadas, and DJ sets.
A Family-Friendly and Participatory Program
Beyond the shows, the Tchouk'Art Festival offers numerous participatory activities for the whole family:
- Circus arts workshops for all ages
- Artisanal carousel
- Traditional games
- Raffle
- Relaxation and children's area
- Bar and food on site
A Friendly and Committed Spirit
Tchouk'Art embodies a human-scale festival model, driven by passionate volunteers and rooted in its territory. The friendly atmosphere, the close proximity between artists and spectators, and the affordable prices make this event a special moment of cultural sharing in a rural setting. The 4th edition in 2025 confirmed the growing success of this young festival.
