About Terre en Fête
Terre en Fête is the largest open-field agricultural festival in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, organized every summer by the Jeunes Agriculteurs de Dordogne. Created over 40 years ago, this itinerant event celebrates the agricultural world through departmental and regional ploughing finals, livestock competitions, sheep shearing demonstrations, technical activities, and farm animal exhibitions. Concerts, local meals, and a festive atmosphere complete this popular gathering.

Terre en Fête 2026 — 44th edition in Vanxains
The 44th edition of Terre en Fête takes place on July 25 and 26, 2026 in Vanxains (24600), route de la Cabane. The Young Farmers of Dordogne are preparing a new weekend of open-field agricultural festivities: ploughing finals, sheep shearing and sheepdog demonstrations, 'course landaise' (Landes-style cow racing), lawnmower tractor races, tractor pulling, concerts on Saturday evening. Free admission.

Terre en Fête is the largest open-field agricultural event in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Organized every summer by the Jeunes Agriculteurs de Dordogne, this itinerant festival moves to a different commune in the department each year. With over 40 editions, it has established itself as an unmissable event in the rural Périgord region.
A Program Rich in Activities
On the program: departmental and regional ploughing finals, demonstrations of sheepdogs, sheep shearing, traditional work, agricultural technical activities, and equipment exhibitions. The general public discovers farm animals, traditional farming know-how, and local Périgord products — but that's not all. A wide range of public entertainment such as Landaise cow racing, lawnmower races, and tractor pulling punctuate the weekend. Here is a small part of the program planned for this big festive weekend!
