Open-air electronic culture festival in Paris
Founded in 2013, The Peacock Society is the major meeting point for electronic cultures in Paris. Every summer in July, the festival transforms the Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes into a huge open-air dancefloor, welcoming around forty artists representing all currents of electronic music: techno, house, ambient, bass music, and sound experiments. Driven by We Love Art and Savoir-Faire, the event brings together world-renowned DJs and producers for a unique open-air clubbing experience.
Created in 2013 by the Parisian collectives We Love Art and Savoir-Faire, The Peacock Society has established itself in a few editions as one of the most respected electronic music festivals in Europe. Its name, borrowed from the peacock—a symbol of splendor and excess—summarizes the event's ambition: to offer a spectacular setting for the global electronic scene.
Since its beginnings at the Parc Floral de Paris, the festival has occupied several emblematic venues before settling at the Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes, an exceptional site that allows for the deployment of several stages in the open air and under tents, creating distinct sound and visual universes for each dance floor.
The strength of The Peacock Society lies in its demanding and eclectic programming, which covers the entire spectrum of electronic music. From the most radical techno to the grooviest house, from contemplative ambient to the most frontal bass music, the festival offers a complete sonic journey for electronic music lovers.
Over the years, The Peacock Society has hosted the biggest names on the global scene: Jeff Mills, Nina Kraviz, Ben Klock, Amelie Lens, Laurent Garnier, DJ Harvey, Helena Hauff, Richie Hawtin, Charlotte de Witte, and Peggy Gou. The festival also knows how to highlight emerging talents from the French and European scene.
The Peacock Society stands out for the quality of its scenographic production. Each stage is designed as a universe in its own right, with high-end sound systems, sophisticated lighting effects, and immersive decorations. The festival focuses on a nocturnal and twilight atmosphere, with sets that extend until the early morning, recreating the intimacy and intensity of the best clubs in the open air.
Despite its international renown, The Peacock Society retains a human-sized dimension that is its charm. The controlled capacity, the attention paid to festival-goers' comfort, and the quality of the welcome make it a popular event for true electronic music enthusiasts, far from the mass logic of some major festivals.
By creating The Peacock Society, We Love Art and Savoir-Faire have contributed to structuring and promoting the French electronic scene. The festival has become a must-visit for international artists passing through Paris and a showcase for French talent. Its influence extends far beyond the festival itself, helping to make Paris a European capital of electronic music.
