A trail to discover the island
The Trail des Vignes de Ré is a nature race that takes place in Sainte-Marie-de-Ré and allows participants to discover the many facets of the Île de Ré. With three distances offered (7, 19, and 34 km), the event is aimed at both beginners and experienced runners wishing to test themselves on a technical and varied course.
Varied and picturesque courses
The start is given at the municipal stadium of Sainte-Marie-de-Ré. The courses then cross several towns: La Noue, Rivedoux-Plage with its beach, the bridge of the Île de Ré, the port of Rivedoux, the seafront and cycle paths, the forests towards La Flotte, before returning to Sainte-Marie through the woods and the vineyards that give the event its name. This diversity of terrain (paved roads, sandy passages, forest paths) offers an interesting technical challenge.
A popular event
In 2018, the trail attracted 776 classified runners, demonstrating the popularity of this sporting event on the island. The friendly and family atmosphere, combined with the beauty of the landscapes crossed, make it a popular meeting place for trail runners from the region and beyond.
