The Trail du Pinhadar is a sporting and friendly event that takes place every year in June in Luxey, in the heart of the Landes de Gascogne Regional Natural Park. This nature race invites participants to run along the forest trails of a preserved territory, between ancient pine and oak groves.
Courses in the heart of nature
The Trail du Pinhadar offers several events adapted to all levels:
- 15 km Trail: a technical and varied course through the maritime pine forest, oak groves, and wetlands of the area. The trails alternate between forest paths, single tracks, and sandy passages typical of the moors.
- 9 km Trail: a discovery course accessible to beginner and experienced runners, offering a beautiful overview of the diversity of the Landes forest landscapes.
- 4.5 km Hike: a friendly walk to discover the forest at a more relaxed pace, ideal for families.
Pinhadar: the pine forest
The name “Pinhadar” means pine forest in Gascon, referring to the forest massif that characterizes the Landes de Gascogne. The trail follows paths that wind through this unique landscape, where maritime pines grow alongside pedunculate oaks, ferns, and heather. Runners cross varied natural environments: shaded undergrowth, bright clearings, and the edges of watercourses.

Access
By car: Luxey is located about 80 km south of Bordeaux, in the heart of the Landes de Gascogne Regional Natural Park. From the A65 motorway, take the Captieux exit and follow signs for Luxey via the D651. From Mont-de-Marsan (50 km), take the D932 then the D651. Free parking at the Luxey city stadium and in the village streets.
By carpooling: As Luxey village is relatively isolated, carpooling is recommended. The organizers encourage runners to share their journeys.
Starting point
Luxey city stadium, 40120 Luxey. The start and finish for all events are at the city stadium, which also serves as the logistical base with changing rooms, toilets, and a reception area. The area is shaded and pleasant for waiting and recovery.
Schedule
- Registration and bib collection: from 8 a.m. at the city stadium
- Trail starts (9 km and 15 km): 9 a.m.
- 4.5 km hike start: 9:30 a.m.
- End of events: around 2 p.m.

Changing rooms and toilets available at the city stadium. The atmosphere is friendly and family-oriented; runners are invited to stay after the race to share a moment together.
Recommended equipment
Trail or running shoes suitable for forest terrain (sand, pine needles, roots). Bring water for the hike. The routes are in the forest and are mostly shaded, making the run pleasant even in June.
