Trail between Cap d'Erquy and Cap Fréhel in a Grand Site of France
Created in 2005, the Trail Landes et Bruyères has become one of the unmissable sporting events in northern Brittany. Organized by an association of volunteers, the event takes place over a spring weekend between the Caps d'Erquy and Fréhel, classified as a Grand Site de France. Runners navigate coastal paths lined with heather moorlands, pink sandstone cliffs, and wild beaches, offering breathtaking panoramas of the Bay of Saint-Brieuc and the Emerald Coast.
The sporting program offers three trail races adapted to different profiles:
Nordic walks (16 and 27 km), hikes, and youth races complete the program, making the event a sporting celebration open to all ages.
Located in the heart of a Grand Site de France, the Landes et Bruyères association pays particular attention to environmental respect. The routes are planned in collaboration with the managers of the natural site, and volunteers ensure that the event's impact on the fragile ecosystems of the coastal heathlands is limited. The spirit of the event is based on conviviality, volunteering, and the discovery of remarkable natural heritage.
The Trail Landes et Bruyères returns for its 22nd edition from May 1st to 3rd, 2026. Registrations for the trail races were already full by February 17th, 2026, confirming the considerable enthusiasm for this event. The program includes the usual three trail races — the Trail des 2 Caps (33 km), the Trail du Cap d'Erquy (15 km), and the Course de la Corniche (7 km) — as well as Nordic walks, hikes, and youth races.
