Jazz resonates in the gardens and ramparts of Vannes
Born in 2024, the Vannes Echos Jazz festival is part of the rich jazz tradition of Vannes, a city that has hosted jazz festivals since 1980 under various names: Jazz à Vannes, Jazz en Ville, and Les Hivernales du Jazz. This new project, supported by Golfe du Morbihan – Vannes Agglomération, aims to make jazz resonate in Vannes throughout the year.
Vannes Echos Jazz stands out with its innovative four-season format, offering jazz events spread throughout the year. The summer highlight takes place in July with several days of concerts in exceptional settings. The rest of the year, concerts and musical encounters punctuate the cultural life of Vannes.
The festival takes over the most beautiful sites in Vannes for its concerts: the main stage at the Jardin des Remparts offers a spectacular setting with views of the medieval fortifications. The Jardin de Limur, a green haven in the city center, hosts intimate concerts. Vannes' jazz clubs and various venues in the historic center complete this musical map, creating a jazz trail through the city.
From swing tradition to contemporary explorations, from gypsy jazz to fusion jazz, the Vannes Echos Jazz program features renowned national and international artists alongside emerging talents. Each edition offers large-ensemble concerts on the Remparts stage and more intimate sets in the city's gardens and clubs.
Vannes Echos Jazz cultivates a relaxed and accessible atmosphere. Several concerts are free to attend, allowing as many people as possible to discover jazz in an exceptional heritage setting. Paid concerts remain at moderate prices, in line with the agglomeration's commitment to cultural democratization.
Vannes Echos Jazz returns from July 8 to 11, 2026 for its 3rd summer edition. The Jardin des Remparts, the Jardin de Limur, and Vannes' jazz clubs will host a new program mixing established artists and discoveries. The program details will be announced in the spring of 2026.
